SEQUEL is a colorful and addictive match-3 puzzle game where your goal is to line up blocks of the same number and color to clear them from the board and earn points. The game grid is filled with vibrant tiles, each labeled 1 through 5 and color-coded for easy recognition.

Swipe blocks in any direction—up, down, left, or right—to swap them with their neighbors. If your move creates a row or column of three or more matching blocks, they vanish, new blocks fall into place, and your score increases.

The longer you play, the more strategic it becomes time your swipes to trigger cascading combos and rack up higher scores. Designed for touchscreen play, SEQUEL works seamlessly on mobile devices. There’s no timer and no distractions—just satisfying swiping and scoring.

"Sequel" offers several advantages tailored to the characteristics of autism:

  1. Improved Focus and Attention The game’s clear mechanics and repetitive tile-swapping action provide a calming, focused activity. For individuals with autism, who may struggle with scattered attention, "Sequel" offers a predictable task that can enhance concentration over time.
  2. Enhanced Pattern Recognition Success in "Sequel" hinges on spotting and creating patterns, a skill that can translate to real-world benefits. Recognizing patterns in the game may help individuals with autism better understand routines or social sequences.
  3. Sensory-Friendly Experience With its simple graphics, muted colors, and absence of loud sounds or flashing lights, "Sequel" caters to those with sensory sensitivities. This design ensures players can enjoy the game without overwhelming their senses.
  4. Opportunities for Social Interaction Though primarily a solo game, "Sequel" can become a collaborative activity when played with caregivers or peers. Discussing moves or competing for scores encourages communication and bonding.

For those with ADHD, "Sequel" provides a structured environment that supports key areas of growth:

  1. Improved Impulse Control Players must think before swapping tiles, as unsuccessful moves revert to their original state. This mechanic encourages patience and planning, helping individuals with ADHD practice self-regulation.
  2. Enhanced Cognitive Flexibility The ever-changing grid requires players to adapt their strategies, fostering cognitive flexibility—an area where individuals with ADHD often face challenges. Adjusting to new patterns builds mental agility.
  3. Increased Engagement and Motivation The game’s immediate feedback, scoring system, and chain reaction rewards keep players hooked. For individuals with ADHD, who may lose interest quickly, this constant reinforcement sustains attention and enthusiasm.
  4. Stress Reduction The predictable rhythm of "Sequel" can have a calming effect, offering a low-pressure outlet for individuals with ADHD to unwind while staying engaged in a meaningful activity.

Unlike many modern games with complex narratives or sensory overload, "Sequel" strikes a balance between simplicity and challenge. Its design avoids overwhelming players, making it an ideal tool for therapeutic or recreational use. Parents, caregivers, and therapists can easily integrate it into daily routines, turning playtime into an opportunity for growth.

Scoring System

In Sequel, you score points by matching blocks with the same number and color in a row or column. Here’s how it works in simple terms:

  • Matching Blocks: Match 3 or more blocks to clear them and earn points.
  • 4 blocks: You get a 1000-point bonus.
  • 5 blocks: You get a 5000-point bonus.
  • 6 blocks: You get a massive 100,000-point bonus.
  • 7 or more blocks: You score an incredible 1,000,000-point bonus!
  • Base Points: You also earn points from the numbers on the blocks. For example, matching three 2s gives you 6 points (2 + 2 + 2).
  • Extra Boost for Big Matches: If you match 4 or more blocks, your base points get multiplied:
    • 4 blocks: ×2
    • 5 blocks: ×4
    • 6 blocks: ×8
    • And it keeps doubling for bigger matches!
  • Total Points: Your score for each match is the base points times the multiplier, plus the bonus. For example, matching four 2s:
    • Base: 8 (2 + 2 + 2 + 2)
    • Multiplier: 2
    • Bonus: 2000
    • Total: (8 × 2) + 2000 = 2016 points
  • Score Display: When your total score hits 1000 or more, it shows up shorter—like “1.2k” for 1200—so it fits nicely on the screen.

IQ System

Your IQ in Sequel shows how smart your moves are, based on the points you score each time you make a match. It’s averaged over your last 10 moves.

  • What’s a Move?: Swapping two blocks to make at least one match counts as a move.
  • How IQ Works:
    • Score 3 points or less: IQ stays low (around 0).
    • Score 3 to 10 points: IQ grows a bit (up to 100).
    • Score 10 to 50 points: IQ climbs faster (up to 200).
    • Score over 50 points: You hit the max IQ of 200 for that move!
  • Your IQ Score: The game takes your last 10 moves, averages them, and shows that number. Make big matches to look like a genius!
